Useful equipment in winter, from heater to electric current

With the onset of winter, the talk of electric home appliances has grown. Consumption of thermal mugs, washing machines, microwaves, induction cookers and heaters is high during the winter months.

Home appliance showrooms and online stores also offer a variety of offers for customers during the winter months. At present, online shopping stores including Daraj, Hamrokichen, Thulodatcom and Electromandu are selling winter electrical goods along with showrooms in the capital.

Among the showrooms, shops in Baneshwor, Koteshwar, New Road, Mahabuddha, Chabahil and Durbar Marg are full of winter electronic goods. LG, CG, Baltra, Virpol, Electron, Philips, Samsung and other companies have filled the market with electrical goods.

According to Saroj Giri of Avon Electric Showroom in Bijulibazar, Kathmandu, winter is the main time for home appliances business after Tihar. “The time to consume electrical goods for winter is after Tihar,” Giri said.

He said that despite the increase in online stores, there was no reduction in customer pressure in the showrooms. He has experienced that when a customer buys expensive electric goods, he likes to buy them by himself.

Here are some of the major electrical goods consumed in winter by visiting some showrooms in the capital.

1. Heater

Demand for this specialty has grown significantly as a result of recent corporate scandals. Heaters are used from home to office use. These range from general electric stores to large showrooms.

Heaters of CG, Baltra, Black & Decker, Divitech and Electron companies are more popular in Nepali market. Electric heaters are available from Rs 2,000 to Rs 25,000. The price of a gas heater ranges from Rs 8,000 to Rs 30,000.

2. Washing machine

According to vendors, washing machines have become one of the most consumed electronic items in the winter months in recent years. Sales of washing machines are also increasing in online stores.

Washing machines of LG, IFV, CG, Walton, Virpol, Godreg and Samsung are in operation in the Nepali market. Washing machines with a capacity of seven kilograms to twenty kilograms are available in the market. Its price ranges from Rs 35,000 to Rs 500,000.

3. Induction stove

Saroj Giri of Awan Sorum in Naya Baneshwor says that the demand for induction cookers is also increasing along with heaters. According to him, the demand for electric stoves instead of gas is high in the Nepali market. Apart from the kitchen, it is also used for making tea and heating food in the office.

Induction stoves of Electron, Kinda, Philips and Baltra are in operation in Nepali market. The price of an induction cooker ranges from Rs 3,000 to Rs 15,000.

4. Dishwasher

Although washing dishes by machine is new to Nepal, now the consumption of dishwasher is increasing.

Disasters of CG, IFV, LG and Electron companies are in operation in Nepali market. Dispensers that can be washed with hot water in winter and cold water in summer cost from Rs 80,000 to Rs 300,000. The price varies according to the size.

5. Thermal jug / hot mug

Thermal jugs and hot mugs used in kitchens for heating water are found everywhere from small to large shops in the market. Baltra, Electron, Philips water heating jugs or utensils are available from two liters to ten liters. Its price ranges from five hundred to five thousand.

6. Microwave

Microwaves are more commonly used in restaurants and offices. Nowadays, its use has also increased in the home kitchen. Microwaves of Fujix, Yasuda, CG, Samsung brands are in operation now. Prices range from Rs 15,000 to Rs 50,000.

7. Electric current

Electric water heaters have also come into the market for winter. After connecting a small machine to the tap, hot water comes in a few seconds. The cost of this electric tap heater, which can be used by connecting it to the kitchen basin, is Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000.

8. AC / fan heater

Demand for hot and cold air conditioning is also high in both winter and summer seasons. Although there is an AC hanging on the wall or ceiling in the office, there is also a fan heater that can be placed on the table. Although technicians are needed to fit a wall-mounted AC, such technicians are not required for a fan heater or table AC.

UV, Philips, Electron brand fan heaters are in vogue in Nepali market. The price of which is two thousand to ten thousand rupees. Room air conditioners cost from Rs 50,000 to Rs 200,000.
