London. Malala Yousafzai, a 17-year-old Pakistani Nobel laureate, got married in England on Tuesday.
She was shot in the head by the Taliban nine years ago as a teenager. Yousafzai, 24, married Asar Malik, manager of the Pakistan Cricket Board, in a small ceremony in Birmingham, England.
The couple’s families were present at the wedding. Malala has congratulated her on her marriage via Twitter. “Today is a very precious day for me,” she wrote on Twitter. “We need your prayers. We look forward to traveling together. ”
Yusufzai, who has been advocating for girls’ education, kept her marriage a secret. She also shared a picture of the marriage while her husband was signing the marriage certificate.
According to the LinkedIn page, her husband Malik is the manager of the Pakistan Cricket Board. He graduated from Lahore University in Pakistan in 2012 with a degree in Management Science.
