Kathmandu. A magnificent pool on the rocky ground surrounded by sharp snow peaks. It seems that nature itself is a skilled craftsman. And, Gosainkunda is his best work of art.
Sometimes it is like sitting on a blanket of snow, sometimes it is like smiling with the reflection of the pure blue sky. This Lekali reservoir is no less shy and beautiful than any youth.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been interested in interviewing Gosainkunda. Not too far from the capital. After making the journey to Rasuwa, one can easily reach Gosainkund. However, the melomoso to reach there could not be formed. This time, by chance, I got a chance to see Gosainkunda with the naked eye. Until Dheet dies.
At the invitation of Leela Lama, we went to Gosainkunda. Lama is the head of MD Group. MD Adventure Travel & Tour has announced the Heli package under MD Group. Under this package, we sent our team of three, including tourism entrepreneur Ram Sundar Bikey, to Gosainkund.
We arrived at Tribhuvan Airport at 7 in the morning. From there we were flown by helicopter to Gosainkund in about 17 minutes.
Helicopter flights should be scheduled as early as possible in the morning. When we reached the sky of Goisaikunda, the peaks were covered with snow. People were seen walking around the pool, some were dancing.
Gosainkunda is also a heritage of religious faith. There is a religious belief that worshiping after bathing in the cold and holy water of Gosaikunda is enough for the mind. That is why religious tourists flock here.
Gosainkund, situated at an altitude of 4,380 meters above sea level, is a center of faith for Hindus and Buddhists.
Every year a special fair is held at Gosainkunda on Janapurni and Dussehra. At that time, thousands of pilgrims reach Gosainkund and express their religious faith by bathing in the holy water of the tank. The stone in the middle of Gosainkunda is believed to be a relic of the temple of Lord Mahadev.
According to the religious narration, Lord Shiva drank the Calcutta poison which came out while churning the sea and reached the throat. He became irritated and restless. Reaching the Niladri mountain to calm down the commotion, Trisul Bajare. Holy water came out from there. He drank water and sat down.
In order to save the bird world in this way, Lord Shiva drank the poison of Calcutta.
Gosainkunda is not only a heritage of religious faith. In 2007, it was even listed in the Ramsar List.
There are 17 ponds including Gosainkund, Saraswatikund, Kumachokund, Dudhkund, Raktakund, Chandrakund, Suryakund, Amakund, Ganeshkund and Bataskund in Gosainkund which falls under Langtang National Park.
After reaching Gosaikunda, I realized how generous nature has decorated Gosainkunda. No matter how much you look at it, your mind is not satisfied. I think I’m watching.
