Shortly after she shelved her second album, fans speculated that it was due to Calvin refusing to sign several songs from the CD.

Rita – who is now married to director Taika Waititi – previously spoke with Calvin about their split and confirmed that her album, which was years in the making, will not feature the music the two shared after their break. Had collaborated with up before.
She said in 2017: ‘It’s one of these things… well, for me it’s in the past. Whatever I say somehow becomes a headline and again becomes a story.
Dismissing speculation that the two are still at loggerheads, she made sure to say: ‘He’s a great guy and we have a good relationship now.’
Rita split from Calvin in 2014, after dating the This Is What You Came For hit-maker for over a year.
She had declared that Calvin was the first person she truly loved, but was left “embarrassed” when she publicly announced their split via Twitter.

Tensions between the couple appeared to be worsening, as Calvin allegedly ‘banned’ Rita from performing any of their collaboration musical material – particularly the catchy tune I’ll Never Let You Down, released two years earlier. It reached the top of the charts when it happened.
The hit track was written and produced by British songwriter Calvin – real name Adam Richard Wiles – and released in March 2014, going straight to the number one spot in the UK Singles Chart.
In response, Calvin tweeted: ‘You will only know one side of the story at the RE Teen Choice Awards as I choose not to speak to the newspapers about every aspect of my personal life. But just know that I had a very good reason.
He then added an emoticon of a waving hand, as if publicly dismissing his former flame.
In an interview with Wonderland at the time of their separation, Rita candidly admitted: ‘At that point… I just wanted to crawl into my bed and die. But I got out of this on the other side, I am surviving.
“I saw the light at the end of the tunnel and I just wanted to change the vibe of the whole album,” she continued. ‘Initially it was a really sweet album because I was there, but then I obviously didn’t feel the same.’

New addition: Rita – who is now married to director Taika Waititi – previously confirmed that her album would not feature music she collaborated on with Calvin before their break up.
However, in 2017, Rita and Calvin are believed to have reached an agreement and ‘settled their differences’.
“They got back in touch at the end of last year and sorted things out,” a source told The Sun.
Rita is now enjoying a return to the charts after being sidelined from the music scene due to a lengthy legal battle with former record label Roc Nation, co-owned by rapper Jay Z, that pushed back the release of her upcoming second album. .
Calvin released his sixth studio album, Funk Wave Bounce Vol. 2, in August and is engaged to TV presenter Vic Hope.
