Bonnie Langford has indicated she is open to returning to EastEnders as her character Carmel Kazemi.

The actress, 58, appeared in the BBC soap from 2015 to 2018 and was last seen hitting Walford after her son Kush (Daud Ghadami) was stabbed by a gang member.

Screen star Bonnie filmed online quiz show Albert Square earlier this month and she insisted Carmel could return.

She told the Mirror: ‘I think I’m still going to Dubai in the black taxi. They killed the rest of my family on the show except for my grandson, who is apparently still there.

‘I enjoyed my time on EastEnders and I’ll never say never.’

He said: ‘Maybe I’ll get back in a taxi and say, “I’m here!”‘ Carmel’s not gone, that’s for sure.’

It comes after the emergence of EastEnders’ online quiz show, featuring Bonnie, with filming starting earlier this month.

James Bye – who plays Martin Fowler in the BBC One soap – is back to host the second series of Albert Square, which will stream on YouTube and Facebook for nine weeks.

As well as two new games, You Ent My Buzzer and Prop-A Ballers, there will also be a special ex-EastEnders episode where the show welcomes home Ricky Norwood (Fatboy), Dawood (Kush) and Bonnie (Caramel). Plus the Christmas special on Friday 23 December.

James said: ‘We’ve had so much fun filming this series of Albert Square – we’ve got new games, a new set and lots of laughs too!

‘Everyone got really involved and some even became quite competitive.

‘It was great to welcome back David, Ricky and Bonnie for a special post-EastEnders episode. I really hope everyone enjoys watching this series as much as we enjoyed doing it!’

EastEnders executive producer Chris Clenshaw said: ‘Following the fantastic response to the first series, we are delighted to be returning to Albert Square for a second run this Christmas/festive season, as a mix of new and returning EastEnders cast members To participate in our very own gameshow that will put their E20 knowledge to the ultimate test.

‘It’s the perfect tonic for this time of year and of course all the Albert Square experts at home can indulge in it – let the games begin.’

Albert Square launched on the official EastEnders YouTube and Facebook pages on 18 November. viewers can watch the show live or hold at any time.
